"Goods & Service Tax (GST) which is
proposed to be implemented very soon will be a game changer for the
nation’s economy. The efforts Chartered Accountants are taking for
preparing themselves as well as their clients are worth appreciating.
The law will be successful when the common public will adopt it for
which various awareness camps and workshops will be required where the
Chartered Accountants have to play a major role," said S Sivamathan,
Director (Finance) of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
Sivamathan expressed his happiness over the various initiatives been
taken by the Nagpur Branch of ICAI for the benefit of the members and
students. He appreciated Institute’s social contribution by taking
various programmes for GST awareness along with various trade
associations for common public. He expressed confidence that though
implementation of this new law will be a big challenge but with due
efforts it will be implemented in a smooth way and will give a boost to
the economy. Efforts should be taken to equip the industry about GST and
to train their staff members as well.
Earlier, Chairman of Nagpur Branch, CA Sandeep Jotwani in his welcome
address said that as the government is working hard for the timely
enactment of the new law and to follow the deadline, it is important for
all the professionals to take the efforts in the same speed. Various
programs are being organized by Nagpur Branch to equip the members along
with the common public. Though GST is a big opportunity for the
Chartered Accountants but we should accept it as a challenge so that the
law can be implemented in timely manner.
In the intensive course, CA Ritesh Mehta, CA Shailendra Jain, CA
Satish Sarda, CA Milind Patel, CA Hemant Rajandekar, CA Varun Vijayvargi
and CA Preetam Batra will be addressing on various issues of Goods
& Service Tax for 7 days.
