Kolkata-based Super Procure, a logistic workflow management company,
which began operations in July 2017, has been witnessing two-fold jump
in business on a month-to-month basis.
According to Varun Biyani,
co-founder and CEO, the company’s web-based portal allows manufacturers
and distributors to automate or digitise the flow or movement of goods
by allowing them to get quotes from multiple vendors and transporters.
The
company has added close to 30 customers from across sectors such as
infrastructure, iron and steel and FMCG. It hopes to add 70 customers by
October. The software currently facilitates close to 10,000 trips a
month, which is likely to increase to 60,000 a month by the end of this
year, he said.
’Manual data’
"We started our
business in July 2017, when the GST was introduced. This transformed the
logistics industry by emphasising on digitisation. Our business has
been growing 200 per cent on a month-to-month basis," Biyani told BusinessLine.
The
logistics industry is still largely dependent on manual data and
records, Biyani said, and added that his company’s web-based portal
helps simplify the process of logistics management through digitisation.
"Freight rates are highly fluctuating depending on the demand-supply situation.
"We
bring both manufacturers and transporters on the same platform allowing
them to compare the rates and negotiate better," he said.
